Legion of Doom (disambiguation)
The Legion of Doom (LOD) was an extremely influential hacker group that was active from the 1980s to the late 1990s and early 2000. Their name appears to be a reference to the main antagonists of Challenge of the Superfriends.

LOD was founded by the hacker Lex Luthor, after a rift with his previous group the Knights of Shadow (much as the Masters of Deception would later be founded after Phiber Optik had a rift with Chris Goggans and LOD, eventually leading to the Great Hacker War and disbanding of both groups).

At different points in the group's history, LOD was split into LOD and LOD/LOH (Legion of Doom/Legion of Hackers) for the members that were more skilled at hacking than pure phone phreaking.

Unlike Masters of Deception there were different opinions regarding what the Legion of Doom was. LOD published the Legion of Doom Technical Journals and regularly contributed to the overall pool of hacking knowledge and information, while causing no direct harm to the phone systems and computer networks they took over. On the other hand, many LOD members were raided, charged and in some cases successfully prosecuted for causing damage to systems and reprogramming phone company computers (Grant, Darden and Riggs, etc). While the "Bellsouth" case could be construed as exploration of the phone system, with claims that no real damage was done, there are other former LOD members such as Corey A. Lindsly (a.k.a. Mark Tabas) who were clearly interested in for-profit computer crime, with no goal except personal gain.

Although the overall expressed beliefs and behavior of LOD and MOD were different, it can be difficult to untangle the individual actions of any given member. In many cases there seems to be cross-over between the two groups or collaboration between LOD and MOD members, even in the midst of The Great Hacker War.

Members of LOD
As of 2006 what has happened to each individual member of the Legion of Doom is unknown. A small handful of the higher-profile LOD members who are accounted for includes: Chris Goggans "Erik Bloodaxe", Dave Buchwald "Bill From RNOC", Patrick K. Kroupa "Lord Digital", Loyd Blankenship "The Mentor", Bruce Fancher "Dead Lord" and Mark Abene "Phiber Optik", who was a member of both LOD and Masters of Deception (MOD).

Other members included: Steven Nygard "The Dragyn", Steven G. Steinberg "Frank Drake", Jason Chon "Riot", Corey A. Lindsly "Mark Tabas", Peter Jay Salzman "Thomas Covenant", Adam Grant "The Urvile", Frank Darden "The Leftist", Robert Riggs "The Prophet", Kenton Clark "Monster X", Todd Lawrence "The Marauder", Scott Chasin "Doc Holiday", Dan Karkonski "Control C"/"Phase Jitter", and Jake Kenyon Shulman "Malefactor".

Former LOD people whose legal names are unknown include: Agrajag The Prolonged, King Blotto, Blue Archer, Unknown Soldier, Sharp Razor, Doctor Who, Paul Muad'Dib, Phucked Agent 04, X-man, Randy Smith, Steve Dahl, The Warlock, Terminal Man, Silver Spy, The Videosmith, Kerrang Khan, Gary Seven, Carrier Culprit, Master of Impact, Phantom Phreaker, Doom Prophet, Prime Suspect, The m0nit0r, Skinny Puppy, Professor Falken, Solomon Grundy (which was later shortened to "Sundry"), Compu-Phreak and LoD founder Lex Luthor.
New World Order and the Hackers
In 1990 without notice, a force of the agents of the Secret Service - accompanied by the police of Austin and for at least a' expert' civil of the phone company - they occupied the offices of Steve Jackson Games and they began to examine the computers. GURPS Cyberpunk author's residence, it was also invaded. Many equipments were apprehended, including four computers, two laser printers, some free diskettes and considerable amount of computer hardware. One of the computers was that stored and it turned Illuminati BBS."
The company, S. J. Games, it went to the Justice and it won the action, but it almost broke financially. The investigation concentrated on a fraud supposedly committed by the company because of the hackers' activities and the fact that the company promoted an informative bulletin destined to hackers, entitled" Prack." However, that emphasizes the fact that the government iluminista of the USA, and the Secret Service, led at that time by George Bush (father) it was concerned with some thing that to S. J. Games were about to do, and it formulated a reason to invade the offices of the company and to apprehend their equipments.
Steve Jackson's company would be inside of the same behavior of LOD and MOD, in spite of different manners inside of the context in the performance of their objectives, it can be difficult to unmask the individual actions of each member. In many cases, it seems there to be cross-over among the two groups, or MOD LOD collaboration among the members, even amid Great War of Hacker's that hides each action of the several groups that you act in the web.
Starting from 2006, what happened with each member of the Legion of Doom is ignored. A small handful of the largest names of the LOD-members, that you are counted includes: Chris Goggans" Erik Bloodaxe", Dave Buchwald" Of Bill RNOC", Patrick K. Kroupa" Digital Lord", Loyd Blankenship" THE Mentor", Bruce Fancher" Mister Dead" and Mark Abene" Phiber Optik", that it was a member of both LOD and Masters of Deception (MOD).

Other members included: Steven G. Steinberg" Frank Drake", Corey A. Lindsly" Mark Tabas", Peter Jay Salzman" Thomas Pacto", Adam Grant" Urvile", Darden Franklin" THE Left", Robert Riggs" THE Prophet", Kenton Clark" Monster X", Todd Lawrence" THE Pillager", Chasin Scott" Doc Holiday", Dan Smith" Control C", and Jake Kenyon Shulman" sinner."

Lex Luthor and Brain Kid
Old members of LOD, whose true names are ignored include: Agrajag THE lingering, King Blotto, Azul Archer, Dragyn, Unknown Soldier, Sharp Cuts, Doctor Who, Paul Muad'Dib, Phucked Agent 04, X-man, Randy Smith, Steve Dahl, The Warlock, Terminal Man, Spy Prata, Videosmith, Kerrang Khan, Gary Seven, Carrier Culprit, Master of Impact, Phantom Phreaker, Doom Profeta, Jitter Fase, First Suspect, THE m0nit0r, Skinny Puppy, r00t, Teacher Falken, Salomão Grundy (that later was shortened for" Several").

Although it is missing the founder of LOD: Lex Luthor still missing and doesn't tend their activities tracked as before, the great harcker of the old group is considered, more the stranger Brain Kid, that you say assumed his place with an ethics against illegal acts to combat other hackers, and turned a legend like True Mel, that comes of the it was gilded of the hackers when computers were in writing directly an instrument to be programmed in the binary language of the machines and they respected the rules.

The Legend Continues
Honey is more probable a programmer ficcional, as it should also be Brain Kid,name that as it consists is an egg white reference to the first name virus Brain,de 1987 that circulated maybe in machines other Pc's, is a homonym of the character Brainiac as the old mentor Lex Luthor. The present time, Brain Kid is a representative of the hackers' of the good new generation, although hisr history is told as a true and real history, as it was the one of Honey, Brain Kid represents a symbol among the users teen of the Internet, some qualify him as a precocious genius that it develops antivirus and other solutions made available in the web and be behind the command of a New Legion of Doom that would be much more for Superfriends.
