Mew Ichigo
| Summary = While visiting an endangered species exhibit with her crush, Masaya Aoyama, Ichigo Momomiya meets three girls while helping a fourth being bullied. An earthquake strikes and the five girls are bathed in a strange light. A cat appears in front of Ichigo then merges with her body. She wakes up to find herself lying on the grass with Masaya. The next day, Ichigo begins displaying cat-like behaviors. After school, she goes to a river with Masaya where they are attacked by a giant rat and Masaya is knocked out. A high school boy named Ryou Shirogane rescues Ichigo then tells her she must beat the monster. Ichigo suddenly knows what to do and transforms in Mew Ichigo. After she defeats the monster, Ryou explains that it was a chimera anima, an alien parasite that turns animals to monsters. He also explains that she is now a Mew Mew, a biological weapon who must fight to protect the Earth from the aliens. Joined by another high schooler, Keiichiro Akasaka, they go to Cafe Mew Mew, the Mew Project's headquarter. Ichigo is tasked with the four other girls she met at the exhibit who are also Mew Mews. The first she finds is Mint Aizawa, who Ichigo discovers her powers after Mint's dog is turned into a chimera anima. Afterwards, they begin working at the café as waitresses to help them gather information and find the others. They hear reports of a ghost at a local school's pool, and go to investigate. They discover that the "ghost" is actually Lettuce Midorikawa, the girl who was being bullied at the museum. Terrified of what's happening to her and confused about her powers, she lost control of herself. She initially attacks the other Mew Mews, but Ichigo and Mint are able to calm her down and help her see that her new powers have helped her gain some real friends. On another date with Masaya, Ichigo gets excited and suddenly her cat ears pop out. Masaya doesn't see them, but a young girl does. Before Ichigo can come up with an explanation, an alien named Kish appears and kisses Ichigo.

Mew Mint
| Summary = Kish infects a number of carnival animals with chimera animas. The other Mew Mews arrive quickly, but they are unable to defeat the monsters as the parasites jump to new animals after being driven from their current host. The young girl who saw Ichigo's cat ears is revealed to be Pudding Fong, the forth Mew Mew. After transforming, she uses her Pudding Ring attack to trap all of the chimera animas in a barrier. This stops them from jumping to new hosts and enables them to be defeated for good. Kish leaves, and the other Mew Mews quickly depart so Ichigo can continue her date with Masaya. He yells at her for disappearing when the zoo was being evacuated. She apologizes for worrying him. As they leave, he ties a cat ribbon with a bell around her neck and tells her that she is his "all-time favorite kitty." Later, the Mew Mews discover that the last Mew Mew is a model named Zakuro Fujiwara. They go to an audition to meet her, but more chimera animas attack. Zakuro transforms without prompting and defeats the aliens, but coldly refuses to join the others. That night, Ichigo, Lettuce, and Pudding go to Mint's house to cheer her up, as she idolized Zakuro and was hurt by her rejection. While the others are asleep, Ichigo is attacked by Kish. The others wake up and drive him off, but as he leaves he says he is going to get rid of the lone Zakuro first. The girls quickly go to the studio where Zakuro is at to protect her from a more powerful chimera anima. With all of the girls transformed together, Ichigo gains a stronger attack power and defeat the monster. Afterwards, they realize the battle had been televised live, so Ichigo introduces them to the country as Tokyo Mew Mew. Zakuro joins the others and the team learns more about the alien invasion. To defeat them all, they must collect a substance called mew aquas. When all are defeated, the girls can return to their normal lives. Later, the girls must go to Inohara Park to quickly defeat another chimera anima. As they are leaving, Masaya, who was doing research there, see's Mew Ichigo and calls her by name as if he recognizes her.

Mew Lettuce
| Summary = Ichigo avoids Masaya, afraid he knows she is Mew Ichigo. Kish is put under "house arrest" for failing to defeat the Mew Mews. Another alien, Pie, goes to implement the next attack while a third, Tart, stays to tease Kish. A chimera anima attacks the school just as Masaya attempts to talk to Ichigo. She escapes into the hall and transforms, then returns to defeat the alien. Masaya tells her that she resembles someone he knows, then after leaving goes to find Ichigo in the hall. Glad he doesn't know her secret, she stops avoiding him. While on a working vacation on a cruise ship, the Mew Mews are attached by another chimera anima. During the fight, it grabs a child and dives underwater. Though unable to swim, Lettuce follows. When she enters the water, her legs change into a porpoise's tail and she is able to rescue the boy. Kish is released from house arrest and the three wonder when their leader "Deep Blue" will awaken to help them reclaim the earth. Ichigo and Masaya go on a date, but after he hugs her, Ichigo worries her cat ears will pop out and runs away to a nearby bathroom. There she discovers that she has changed into a small black cat. Masaya finds her and takes her to his home, but his dog chases her out of the house. Then Ryou finds her and explains that her cat genes are taking over so they must hurry to defeat the aliens before she becomes a cat permanently. They accidentally get separated and Masaya finds her again. Meanwhile, the other Mew Mews go to investigate a strange cocoon near the town's radio tower, but they are defeated by the three aliens. While Masaya is asleep, Ichigo steals a kiss which turns her back to normal, but lying beside him excites her so much she turns to a cat again. She leaves and is rescued from a large tom cat by small gray cat who then kisses her, changing her back to normal. After a brief run in with Tart, Ichigo finds Ryou who fills her in on what happened with the others.

Mew Pudding
| Summary = At school the next day, she and Masaya exchange cell phone numbers. In the afternoon, the girls search for mew aqua. They find a possible piece, but they also find Kish who attacks with a chimera anima. As they begin to fight, Masaya calls Ichigo to ask her to meet him at five. She agrees but before they can finish their call, the chimera anima eats her phone. The Mew Mews defeat it, but are then attacked by Kish, Pie, and Tart. As they fight, the cocoon on the tower hatches and a dust waiburn emerges. It begins spreading a pollution-filled dust around the town which the girls are powerless to stop. Mint realizes the mew aqua is at the top of the tower and flies up to get it while the others cover her. When she finds it, she temporarily receives a new attack that clears away all of the dust. The girls then combine powers to active Mew Ichigo's most powerful attack and destroy the waiburn. Its almost 8 pm when the battle ends, but Ichigo desperately runs to where she was supposed to meet Masaya. She finds him waiting in the rain and cries, hating having to lie to him about her life. He pulls her close and tells her he loves him. Her ears pop up but before she can run, he covers her with his jacket to protect her from the rain and doesn't see them. She confesses that she loves him to. After they spend some time hugging, they make plans to go on another date that Sunday. Ichigo arrives early and while waiting, suddenly turns into a cat again. The fat cat who attacked her earlier comes after her again and she is rescued by the gray cat who introduces himself as Alto before kissing her to return her to normal. She returns to the meeting spot so she and Masaya can go on their date to the aquarium. While they are enjoying their outing, Kish attacks them and Ichigo loses sight of Masaya. She transforms, but is struggling to defeat the powerful chimera anima alone. Suddenly a blond haired, blue-eyed alien appears who calls himself the Blue Knight and swears to protect her.

Mew Zakuro
| Summary = The Blue Knight easily defeats Kish and tells Ichigo he was born to protect her. After he leaves, Ichigo realizes she's lost her bell but Alto appears and returns it to her. He quickly runs off and is seen changing into a human. That night, Pudding is capture by Pie and Tart, but is able to send her monkey to get help. The girls search all night, before Ryou directs them to the Tokyo Dome, where they are detecting heavy chimera anima activity. Tart has Pudding caged under the dome and tells her that they are going to make the dome collapse, killing the 50,000 people currently inside. Pudding nicknames him Tar Tar, gives him a piece of candy, and tells him that he is her buddy. Confused by her lack of fear of him, he leaves to attack the newly arrived Mew Mews with chimera animas. The girls quickly defeat the monsters and find Pudding under the done. Ichigo taunts him by calling him a midget until he attacks her, then dodges the attack so it hits and breaks the cage holding Pudding. Tart sends another chimera anima after Ichigo, but the Blue Knight protects her getting cut on the arm in the process. Pudding finds a mew aqua and uses its power to grow trees around the dome to hold it securely in place. As Tart leaves, he complains about his loss but chuckles while looking at the candy Pudding gave him. The next day, Kish attacks while Ichigo and Masaya are on a picnic. Ichigo is forced to transform in front of him to fight Kish. The Blue Knight joins her and badly wounds Kish. Ichigo stops him from killing the alien and Pie and Tart come to rescue him. After the Blue Knight leaves, Ichigo sees Masaya behind her. Crying, she tries to explain, but he kisses her and tells her that he already knew and was only pretending not to because she didn't want him to know. Tart sees them together and learns about Ichigo's cat form. He attempts to attack her while she is transformed but Alto appears and kisses her to return her to normal. After she chases off Tart, Ichigo learns that Alto is actually Ryou.
