Born in [[Winnipeg]], [[Manitoba]], she lives in [[Ottawa]], [[Ontario]].
Michelle Desbarats was born September 21, 1956 in [[Winnipeg]] Manitoba. She was a finalist in the CBC/Saturday Night National Poetry Contest. In 1998 she published her first book entitled "Last Child to Come Inside". She has also received the "Ontario Arts Council-Works in Progress" grant. She currently lives in [[Ottawa]], Ontario and meets with her son Arthur for dinner on Sunday nights. She has also been reputed to make good carrots.


Desbarats was a finalist in the CBC/Saturday Night National Poetry Contest. In 1998, her first book of poetry, ''Last Child to Come Inside'', was published by Carleton University Press. She has also received the Ontario Arts Council-Works in Progress grant.

Michelle Desbarats is a Canadian poet.

Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, she lives in Ottawa, Ontario.

Desbarats was a finalist in the CBC/Saturday Night National Poetry Contest. In 1998, her first book of poetry, Last Child to Come Inside, was published by Carleton University Press. She has also received the Ontario Arts Council-Works in Progress grant.
