i work at a video game store in australia and today we recieved the release date sheets and on there it said that gta iv was set to be released in australia on march 15. Can anyone else tell me if there is any truth to this? |

:There are loads of release dates floating around at the moment. Various different on-line games stores have dates ranging from Jan 08 to June 08. A number of the editors have decided that the only date that matters is a release date stated by either Rockstar or Take-Two. So far the only valid date we have is that Take Two stated that it would be released in their financial second quarter of 2008 which gives us a window of Feb to Apr. Overall, a work of [[WP:SYNTH]]. It does not seem undue to merge this article to the controversies section, or perhaps also the article about Jack Thompson. A great deal of it revolves around anti-video-game hysteria fomented by a few people, and none of it had any quantifiable effect on the game's popularity or sales. While the main article should certainly have a section concerning responses from public figures, there's no indication it merits a separate article and removing tangential references to the game will trim it down massively. This article mentions that the motion capture was done first, and then michael hollick went to a studio to do facial animations and voice. All games in the Grand Theft Auto series have been rated M, and almost all retailers in the United States and Canada refuse to carry products rated AO (18+). This may sound pedantic, but could somebody registered change Seryoga's song's translation for Король ринга from 'King Ring' to 'King of the ring' please? Ринга is the Accusative form of ринг and not nominative, so whilst translation between Russian-English will never be one hundred percent, 'King of the Ring' is a lot closer and less silly sounding then 'King Ring'. Quite simply, Король Ринга would (by all means it at least 'should') mean King of the Ring, so I don't think it refers to his label as such. I had a look at Seryoga's lyrics, he uses two English words... King Ring :D . I have a feeling all this confusion stems from Seryoga's own mistranslation. Unless he just thought King Ring sounded so cool :P . I have a feeling his label King Ring as you describe is the same mistranslation... pfft, even the gals in T.A.T.u can speak some English :D . Proposed merge of Controversies surrounding Grand Theft Auto IV into Grand Theft Auto IV#Controversies[edit]
Overall, a work of WP:SYNTH. It does not seem undue to merge this article to the controversies section, or perhaps also the article about Jack Thompson. A great deal of it revolves around anti-video-game hysteria fomented by a few people, and none of it had any quantifiable effect on the game's popularity or sales. While the main article should certainly have a section concerning responses from public figures, there's no indication it merits a separate article and removing tangential references to the game will trim it down massively. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ (ᴛ) 02:30, 21 April 2023 (UTC)
- Not sure I agree with the WP:SYNTH argument but I agree that size alone does not justify a split, especially after trimming some of the extraneous detail and quotes. As the article's primary contributor and GA nominator, I've boldly merged the articles. About the motion capture[edit]
https://www.eurogamer.net/niko-actor-prepared-for-gta-backlash This article mentions that the motion capture was done first, and then michael hollick went to a studio to do facial animations and voice. So it's possible that when, in the gamasutra interview, the image metrics guys were talking about how they "improved" the process with headcams, they weren't talking about gta 4,since in the only surviving image of the motion capture (in the art of gta 4 book) they wore no head cams, but they definutely wore them in the first red dead, and were shaped like a "duckbill" Hayytham (talk) 15:09, 10 April 2024 (UTC)
