He opened his YouTube channel in 2007. In 2013, the channel received a significant boost from the community , as it won a competition from PewDiePie that year and was then presented by them. He and his channel are associated with his fictional partner Sam, a green, "infected" eye.

YouTube

Seán McLoughlin first appeared on YouTube on February 24, 2007 under the pseudonym Jacksepticeye . He started his career on November 12, 2012 with a video in which he described his impressions of the game Solid Snake . A short time later he started producing Let's Plays of Far Cry 3 and Dark Souls . His older videos are considered to be significantly "quieter" than the newer ones. Because of this, he calls himself the "most energetic game commentator on YouTube".

McLoughlin got his name Jack from his mother and then from friends. Seán means John in British-English ; a nickname for it is Jack . His friends later started calling him "Jacksepticeye" when he caught a glass of glass from a friend's glasses in his eye in an accident. According to him, the wound bled for several days and became infected. Hence the part of the name septic eye , which means something like inflamed eye .

Seán runs various Let's Plays series and regularly uploads vlogs and “ Reading Your Comments ”, in which he responds to comments from viewers. Most of his videos contain a lot of expletives.

The channel began to grow rapidly in September 2013 after PewDiePie mentioned the channel in its shout-out competition , which brought McLoughlin over a million subscribers within a year.

Private life

He is a former drummer for the indie heavy metal band Raised to the Ground . One of his older brothers, Malcolm, is a writer.

In early 2010, McLoughlin dropped out of college after two years and later began studying English after speaking to someone on the Interpals online platform . He finished college in 2014 and reached a million subscribers that same year.
