Compensation Legislative Review Panel and on the Canadian Aboriginal
Economic Development Program, among many others.
David is an avid dog musher, having participated in several dog mushing
competitions across Canada. He also likes to spend his time on the land, fishing
and caribou hunting.
David and his wife Jean have three sons, Darryl, Craig and Solomon and two
grandchildren.

David Simailak from Baker Lake is is currently the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for the electoral district of Baker Lake having won the seat in the 2004 Nunavut election. Simailak was the Minister of Finance and the Minster Responsible for the Liquor Licensing Board.
