In 2021, she wrote a letter to ''Humo'' magazine in which she described paedophiles as "a marginalised, vulnerable group who have been treated as sickening scum by the decent moralistic community for years" and "the majority of paedophiles never commit paedophilic acts and every human being is sometimes attracted to innocence and youth". Career

In 2010, she won the C. Buddingh'-prijs for her debut poetry collection De dieren in mij.[1]

She also received the Prijs voor Letterkunde van de Provincie West-Vlaanderen in 2011 for this debut.[1]
