The Akodontini is a [[tribe]] of the subfamily [[Sigmodontinae]], family [[Cricetidae]], order [[Rodentia]]. It includes at least 95 living species in 14 genera and is distributed mainly in the southern half of South America, with only some genera extending into Guyana ([[Podoxymys]]) or Venezuela ([[Bolomys]]). It also includes the past "Scapteromyini". The following genera are now generally recognized:
