Chockalog River and environs

The Chockalog River is a stream in southern Massachusetts and northwestern Rhode Island. Its name is said to mean fox place.

The river rises from the Cedar Swamp in the south of Douglas, Massachusetts, and flows generally southwards to join with Round Top Brook just inside Rhode Island. This confluence forms the Nipmuc River in Burrillville, Rhode Island, which as part of the Branch River watershed eventually flows through Woonsocket and Pawtucket into Narragansett Bay.
