Mills Robotics Team is a group of approximately forty Mills High School students who design and participate in building a robot each year to compete in the F.I.R.S.T. (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics Competition sponsored by NASA. The team consists of three departments, a construction department, an animation department, and a public relations department.

The Construction Department is mainly in charge of building the robot. This includes designing the robot, building it, programming it, and operating it at the F.I.R.S.T. competitions.

The Animation Department is in charge of creating a thirty second animation to compete in an Autodesk sponsored part of the competition. Each year there is a theme that the animation is based upon. This year's theme was "Thinking Green." They use Autodeks' 3ds Max to create the animation.

The public relations department is in charge of managing the team, gathering resources, and most importantly, the public relations of everyone that comes in contact with MRT. While each group has their own seperate function. Mills Robotics Team works as a whole to achieve our mission statement, to learn more about robotics, engineering, and technology and improve each year at the F.I.R.S.T. Robotics Competition
