The Culture of Georgia is a subculture of the Southern United States, which is in itself a subculture of the United States that has come from blending heavy amounts of rural Scot-Irish culture with the culture of African slaves and Native Americans. Georgians share a unique history with the other Southern States which includes the institution of slavery, the American Civil War and Reconstruction, the Great Depression, segregation and the Civil Rights Movement.
