Initial Records was a post hardcore based label started in 1992 in a suburban Detroit Dunkin' Doughnuts by Andy Rich, Dennis Hepinstall, and Carolyn Smith. By the mid 90's most of the active bands on the roster were from Louisville, KY. Andy then moved the operation there and built it into one of the noted late 90's/early 2000's Midwestern indie punk/hardcore/emo labels.
The label ceased releasing new releases between 2003-4.
