Merge proposal

I have proposed that Orange Democratic Movement–Kenya be merged into this page: the two parties have enough in common that they can be covered by one article, as shown by the fact that these two articles currently have almost identical content. If anyone disagrees, please say so below; if no one does, I will carry out this merge myself. Terraxos (talk) 23:29, 17 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Definitely oppose. These two are essentially separate parties and sitting on the opposite sides regarding to the government. From Kenyan point of view, merging these two articles would be considered outrageous. While the contents are almost the same, this can be fixed with time. • Oppose for the same reason. —Nightstallion 20:54, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • I oppose becuase ODM and ODM Kenya have always been separate entities even though most of the personel in ODM now were in ODM-Kenya. From memory ODM was initially registered by a Mugambi Imanyara soon after the 2005 Constitutional referendum and in anger the members of the ODM which defeated the government side in that referendum went and registered ODM-Kenya, and most of the anti-governement politicians remained in ODM Kenya up until the point Raila Odinga and his colleagues managed to get Mugambi Imanyara to hand ODM to them when it became apparent Kalonzo Musyoka's faction was not going to fold and let him be nominated presidential candidate without a potentially damaging fight. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 129.11.61.211 (talk) 22:06, 24 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
