Bupyeong-gu is one of the 10 administrative divisions (eight wards and two counties) that comprise Incheon, South Korea. Bupyeong-gu comprises an area of 12.35 square miles (31.98 square km), and has a population of 553,961 [1].

Bupyeong is known for having one of the largest manufacturing plants of GM Daewoo, and the 6,500 m2 GM Daewoo Design Center. Bupyeong Station is the intersection of Incheon Subway Line 1, and Korail subway's line 1. The Bupyeong Underground Market is located there. It is home also to Camp Market, a small United States Army garrison.

Bupyeong-gu was created as its own ward in 1995 when 'Buk-gu' has divided into 'Gyeyang-gu' and 'Bupyeong-gu'.

Alternative Spellings. Bupyeong-gu is sometimes referred to as simply Bupyeong -- alternatively spelled Bupyong or Bupyung. GM tends to favor 'Bupyung'. For example, the GM window sticker of a Chevrolet Aveo manufactured in Bupyeong-gu carries the spelling "Bupyung-gu."
