Roland Lee

Roger, I understand the reasoning for removing the disambiguation page for Roland Lee. Is it appropriate to put a tag at the top of the page saying something to the effect of: "This page is about the English Swimmer. For information about the Landscape Artist, see Roland Lee (Artist)" ?

Also, I am new at this so please bear with me. Why was the page I was working on deleted? I had started it this evening and was planning on finishing the biography tonight after dinner. When I went back to work on it, the article itself had been deleted. Is there a way to work on an article and save it and not have it deleted whilst it is a work in progress?

As for the statue, I am not sure about that one, but I will look into it.

ZipLocal

Hey RHaworth,

You are recorded as the Admin that deleted and protected the ZipLocal article/page. I am trying to understand the reason for the deletion of the the article as the company ZipLocal is very well known in Canada (Notable) and the article was worded to avoid anything I saw as blatant advertising (which was the prior deletion reasons given). If you could possibly clarify why it was deleted that would help me to avoid it being deleted in the future (I was in the middle of adding references when it was deleted).

Also how would I go about unprotecting the ZipLocal page so that I may try to post a new article in the future from a more neutral point of view? I am fairly new to this so any clarifications you can give would be highly appreciated.

Apparently you are recorded as the Admin that deleted the article IT Governance Institue My goal is to understand the reason for the deletion of the IT Governance Institute article, with the aim of being able to get the article undeleted and improved to avoid future deletion. • Easy answer: write a proper article! The entire content of what I deleted was:

• One of the things you need to learn quickly is how to create wikilinks! I deleted Dhol academy because it had the wrong capitalisation and I saw that you had also created Dhol Academy. As you have already been told Dhol Academy was deleted as a blatant copyvio. I fully realise that wikipedia is not a free host. I have no intention of writing a student essay on a topic I am a world expert on. Perhaps, if you had paused and used both brain cells you have acquired, you may have realised that I was indicating that merely pointing out that I was inaccurate on a point is not helpful, while indicating how to correct the mistake would be of much more use. Bingham Road Halt

Key to symbols

I was wondering why you moved this article to the page "Bingham Road railway halt", rather than (as is the custom) "Bingham Road Halt railway station" or just "Bingham Road Halt"? Lamberhurst (talk) 12:19, 2 July 2008 (UTC)

• "Halt … station" is tautologous: halt is another word for station. "Bingham Road Halt" was a bit too ambiguous: I felt that "railway" was needed. • As the map shows, the railway company did not think that two platforms warranted the name "station" so they just called them "motor halts". Halt however is a verb to most people so we add the word railway as an hint that this is a slightly unusual usage of the word. What is nonsensical about that? "Halt" by itself would seem to be the most logical solution which would reflect how the station was referred to in timetables, even if "railway halt" would be seem to be correct when describing the type of station (I've subsequently done a bit of research using Kidner's Southern Railway Halts). I have some (recent) photos of the Spencer Road Halt site and had intended to write up an article at some point. On another point, seeing as you wrote the Woodside & South Croydon article in the first place, are you aware if there was ever a physical connection between Selsdon Road and South Croydon? • I will happily accept "X Halt" - as in Deeside Halt seen from a train window last week. Pictures of Spencer Road Halt site! Have you been able to produce anything more interesting than my version? As the map above shows, Selsdon Road was the next station on the Oxted Line after the junction just south of South Croydon station. One of its platforms is still visible in the yard of the builders' merchant, etc. off Selsdon Road. Yes of course, I had forgotten about the disused bridge to South Croydon over the Croham Road - I will modify the route map at some point to show the spur. As for Spencer Halt, my photo is pretty much the same; I've also got one of the footbridge. What is the best vantage point for the Selsdon platform? CDS International

Hello there...so, like many others who have written you, I, too am new to Wikipedia. I didn't mean for the page on CDS International to appear promotional, rather I intended for it to be informational. I went on one of CDS' programs to Spain and really, it was the best thing I've ever done(being able to live and work abroad, explore the culture...I could go on). In any case, the organization has been around for 40+ years and is sponsored by both the German government and the U.S. State Department(it's notable). Additionally, they have many notable alumni, like Chris Kojm, the Deputy Executive Director of the 9/11 commission, Trooper Sanders, Domestic Policy Advisor to Former President Cinton, The Clinton Foundation, Daniel Mudd, CEO of Fannie Mae...amongst others. the How can I rewrite the article so that it can stay? Or, can someone else rewrite it? I've tried adding many other links as well...Please advise...Incidentally, their competitor, another international non-profit, CIEE has as page? — cds international (CDS International (talk) 15:00, 7 July 2008 (UTC))

WP:HAU, Status, and you!

Mydolls

Dear RHaworth, The Mydolls page was deleted because a fan in Serbia copied our bio from a personal page and put it on his blog. This person is http://burningflameblog.blogspot.com/2007/08/mydolls.html and I do not know this person. This person has taken a biography we had posted off of a site and pasted onto his site. I have emailed this person and he has removed our bio from his website, but I need your cooperation to correct this problem. Please help me unblock and unprotect mydolls page.I was the guitarist and creator of the band Mydolls. We are a legitimate part of Texas Music History. I have spoken to the man at Burning Flame given him a personal interview for his blog and he has removed the bio he copied from us from his blog. The Burning Flame site is what flagged the Mydolls page. I have also rewritten the bio and removed any references other than researched facts from the NY time about the movie Paris Texas that Mydolls performed in. I have two notable sites that list us Mydolls the rehearsing band in the NY Times and on the Amazon site where the movie Paris Texas is sold as a dvd. Mydolls are also listed on Fandango and www.imdb.com and Msn movies and hollywood.com as the rehearsing band in Paris Texas. I personally have 3 lines in the movie in the bar scene and I am listed in the script as Chanteause. Please help me get the page back on. • I did not delete the article. The Deletion Log entry is very clear. The PROD tag had been in place for the regulation period and you had done nothing about it. It has come and gone several times in the past. The other changes on related articles, including the redirects is overdue (a lot were sales pitches). The general view as I remember it was that Knowledge Management is normally capitalised when it is referred to as a subject. Its all there on the talk page, first item so it is not hidden. Hi. I've been discussing concerns on this article with the article's author (who is likely the subject or related to the subject). I read the claim that the subject had written a novel as a claim of notability, albiet a dubious one, and was seeking further sources and information. Since the article has been deleted - and I concur that it's probably a valid deletion - could you do me a favor and notify the author? There was a nonsense tag earlier which I declined (having fixed the formatting that caused it to look like nonsense), and so now having the article deleted might confuse them a bit - or, worse, cause them to repost, then repost again when it's deleted again, and so on into drama. I agree with you about T.E.C. I have only two coments:

S.O.M. that has been redirected to S.O.C. is not exactly the same thing. I can provide references to sepparate both concepts.

What's better,put a references under S.O.C. or recreate S.O.M. with his Own differences?

T.E.C. could be create at bottom of the Embedded system without any problems, so we could consider it as an extension of Embedded. I agree with you about that of course.

Dan Blue deletion

• To get rid of a mistake, tag the article {{db-author}}. However, in this case, since you thought of it as a title, others might too, so a redirect is perfectly valid. Also your article, short though it was, contained two factoids that seem to be missing from the big article! Copy them over. — RHaworth (Talk | contribs) 03:06, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
