Shwayze (born January 1, 1986 in Malibu , California ; real name Aaron Smith ) is an American rapper .
biography
Shwayze - the name is a reference to the actor Patrick Swayze - grew up with his grandparents and after school earned his living doing odd and unskilled jobs with his grandfather.
At a concert by the Californian band Whitestarr , he pushed himself onto the stage in the opening act and was allowed to complete a short freestyle appearance with the support of the band drummer Alex Orbison, whom he knew personally. Whitestarr-Kopf Cisco Adler then became interested in him. He had already produced the white rapper Mickey Avalon and after some persuasion, Adler and Shwayze recorded a number of songs that were written together for the rapper's debut.
With the debut single Buzzin ' Shwayze was able to place itself successfully in the US charts in June 2008 and the second single Corona and Lime even climbed into the official Top 40 shortly afterwards . Cisco and Shwayze describe the musical style of Buzzin as "California Chill, Stoner Music ". In general, elements of roots rock are associated with conscious rap .
Shwayze and Cisco Adler released the first single "You could be my Girl" from their album "Island in the Sun" in August 2011, which was released in September. Before that they went on tour in the USA. Cisco Adler also started small projects. Among other things, he recorded with various local artists under his label "bananabeat records" and published videos on his YouTube channel "Ciscos House".
Shwayze and Adler are the main characters in the reality TV series Buzzin ' which is broadcast by MTV .
