Mickey Avalon (born December 3, 1975 in Los Angeles , California , real name: Yeshe Perl ) is an American rapper .

His first album, also called Mickey Avalon , was released on November 7, 2006 on Interscope Records / Shot to Kill Records in collaboration with MySpace Records . He mixes dark, offensive and humorous lyrics with hip-hop beats. Often in his songs there are allusions to his drug abuse and experiences with prostitution.

His upbringing was very turbulent and was shaped by his parents' drug use. He and his mother started selling hashish when he was 14 years old. His father died when he was 19 years old. Previously, he successfully broke his heroin addiction and was run over by a drunk driver while walking home from an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting.

Mickey Avalon's paternal grandparents are Holocaust survivors , and both suffered permanent damage as a result of their imprisonment in Auschwitz . His grandfather was paralyzed on one side as a result of experiments by concentration camp criminal Josef Mengele , and his grandmother had bite wounds from fighting dogs.

Mickey Avalon is the author and former MTV - VJ Simon Rex friends, who encouraged him to write lyrics, lived as Mickey penniless on his sofa. Avalon soon found a following in the Los Angeles nightclub scene . In 2007 he appeared in the opening act for Red Hot Chili Peppers .

TV appearance

In an episode of The Simple Life series , both Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie organize a wedding for two women. Paris invites several music groups, including Mickey Avalon. He performs in person and sings Friends and Lovers .
