Hi, Wizardman. If you'd checked the history on this article, you'd have noticed that all attempts to expand the article and provide evidence of notability were deleted by a particluar editor as insufficiently referenced. It's difficult to find non-commercial references for Asian culture, so it remained just a stub. I went to some work to research and write the original article, as it was in the "requested" list, and don't appreciate that it's been so poorly treated. I know that good references are necessary, but I do think some latitude should be granted for underground popular Asian culture. You're just not going to find much in the way of scholarly articles on it.

Just wondering why you deleted the unused image fields from the ibox. I can understand you deleting the "replace this image" link but the other fields were not doing any harm and when there is an image to add they will just have to be added back again. Any objection to me reverting your changes (apart from the rti image deletion)? – ukexpat (talk) 19:32, 18 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, you can add the field themselves back in. Wizardman 19:39, 18 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I was going to close this as "keep" (non admin) per the sources found and the comment that his Chinese WP article is sourced but paused when I noticed it was nominated by an experienced editor/admin. Would you object if I went ahead and closed it?

In any case, if there are sources they should be integrated into the article. --Ron Ritzman (talk) 01:04, 19 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Nevermind, it was closed by User:MBisanz --Ron Ritzman (talk) 02:34, 19 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

RfC on Tony1

I've reopened it because the issue is not resolved. Tony1 has made it pretty clear that he's not open to discussing the issue and is actively ignoring (or misunderstanding) people who point out problems with his actions (and script) on his talk page, so I don't expect him to change his behavior... so I do expect the RfC to remain open for the standard 30 days to get as much feedback as possible and make as many people aware of the situation as possible. RfC is not a vote, it's a call for comments. --Sapphic (talk) 01:33, 19 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I note that the rules for admins clearly proscribe both the gaming of other admins' actions and, more importantly, the taking of admin action when there is a personal stake involved (conflict of interest). I'm intrigued that WP allows this to go unchecked. Tony (talk) 02:26, 19 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Okay Wizardman, I'm not sure how exactly to leave notes but if you read this listen and listen good! You had no right deleting The Many page! Thanks

For your kindness and message[1]. Since I had been a jobless judge from July 20, 1999, it was only last July, 2007, or 1 years, 2 months, and 27 days ago, that I found an global job in our great WikiUniverse. Sitting, not in the bench, but in the computer, and daily for 10 long hours (making sure that my edits would be remembered by generations, and our wisdom is shared by the world). In most of my single-one edits, I would spend average of 40 minutes, using good references like AFP, AP, NYT, BBC (coz other links, like CNN, MSNBC, etc. are so slow to open). I never ever revererted any edit, since I do not know how to revert, just re-added when needed. I had also invited many forum members to share their wisdom in Wikipedia, especially, when some forums email notify me to post[2]. Regards. --Florentino floro (talk) 06:19, 26 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Florentino Floro

Hi, thanks for finally writing a conclusion to the RfC. Is there another step to take should he fail to take your advice? I realize that this might seem petty because it's only been a few hours since you closed the issue, but I think I need to ask this because he clearly didn't listen. Immediately following your warning not to write excessively long rants, he wrote one of his longest yet--in fact, it's a very long tirade about his right to have an excessively large userpage.

I'm not asking for any actual action now, as the RfC's only just finished, but I'd like to know how much of this blatant disregard of advice we're expected to take before taking him to task with the administration again. --Migs (talk) 13:29, 26 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

a separate question...on the same subject

Hi Wizardman. I'm sorry to bring you back to this same subject again. I was obviously very involved in the Florentino Floro RFC, and in your conclusion you recommended that I try to avoid direct contact with floro. I'm trying to understand what that means, both practically and about how I've behaved. I do certainly have strong opinions on his behavior, but I have tried very hard to conduct myself well and civilly throughout this process. I have paid a lot of attention to floro over the last year, but I only do it to help wikipedia. I have always tried to give him constructive advice. I have seen too many editors turn a blind eye to his rampant bad editing, in effect enabling and encouraging behavior that is detrimental to the encyclopedia. I believe that somebody needs to pay attention, and nobody else was taking on that role. If you feel that I crossed a line, if any of my actions were inappropriate or if I behaved badly, I would sincerely like to know. regards, maxsch (talk) 18:22, 27 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the note. I appreciate the clarification. maxsch (talk) 01:58, 28 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

User:Florentino floro/Learned Treatise:Legal-Academic Values of Compleat User Page

Thanks again for you many times spent on our RFC. I created this User Subpage not just to submit refuting or contrary evidence to accusations against my User page, but: to present the problem in Philippines, here, regarding junking of Wikipedia by university professors, due to the Disclaimer. Now, I presented sources on USA, UK and Philippine laws on evidence - Learned treatise which require, us, article creators on history, art and science, to show proof of our expertise. Thus, I made a terse User Page with each lines supported by reliable sources accepted by the legal and academic community. As you ruled, let us move on, and not only that, I would add, let our articles created be made and accepted due to its reliability, and the Completeness of our User Pages. Cheers.[3]--Florentino floro (talk) 11:44, 28 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

King of Pop redirect

Looking at the edit history, someone (the IP) dissolved the redirect. Is there a way to semi protect a redirect or something? Cheers — Realist2 19:12, 27 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sure, it was more a hypothetical thing. I image the album, as a reissue, will fade into obscurity rather soon, thus it still makes vastly more sense that King of Pop redirects to Michael Jackson. The reissue wasn't even released in the US and since a disproportionate number of visitors to wikipedia are American (I'm not by the way), it really never made sense. — Realist2 17:31, 28 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

RFC/Sarumio

I've reverted as I'm still discussing with the filing party (I'd encouraged them to try rfc) - if there's no additional comments after 8 days, then please do proceed to close it if it hasn't been closed already by then. Cheers - Ncmvocalist (talk) 10:58, 29 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Don't wanna bug you or nuthin', but any chance of reviewing the MeeMix deletion? Thanks. Rabend (talk) 13:54, 2 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the note about the closure. (Sorry for the slow reply - holiday). I'm concerned about a couple of points. 1) The closure didn't censure the personal attacks and overt bad faith, which were major factors behind bringing the RFC and certainly ones which PW showed no sign of mending during its course. 2) Your closure recommendations aren't happening: PW isn't contributing elsewhere or writing the essay stating the scope of his COI; and is only technically avoiding editing the article that caused the problem, since he's being encouraged to write a fresh draft of it destined to be incorporated into the main article (with critical editors excluded from the process, nor any medical editors involved in what's a specialist medical topic). This looks like another train wreck waiting to happen... Gordonofcartoon (talk) 21:18, 2 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:2005nfldraft.gif)

Thanks for uploading Image:2005nfldraft.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not.
