:Thank you for the note. I noticed that you had already made a new design for your user page, and assumed you didn't need a redesign anymore, so I already knew beforehand. And yes, I've changed my user page. There are just so many nice designs out there to use, I couldn't choose the right one for me. Knowing that, I wanted to show to others what I have done for the encyclopedia (that's why we're here! To build an encyclopedia.) , so I made a simple design based on some parts of the user pages of Caulde, Sean Whitton, and Cirt, and added a list of articles I've worked on in my time here. My talk page guidelines:

 • Please use a ==descriptive header== and sign & date your posts by typing four tildes (~~~~) at the end of your message.
 • I'm online a few times during the day, more actively on weekends. If I'm offline, I'll reply to messages when I am online again.
 • Messages posted here will be replied on this talk page unless requested otherwise. Messages I leave on your talk page should be replied there unless requested otherwise. I do this to keep conversations organized.
 • Please be civil and cool when posting messages. I'm probably one of the nicest editors there is around, and I do like to help people, but please don't harass or provoke me. I won't retalliate, I'll merely revert. That being said, feel free to ask me any questions you have, just be civil, and don't personally attack other editors.
 • Please note that I archive talk page posts a few times every-so-often, so if commenting on an old thread that is gone from my talk page, I have archived it. Consider starting a new thread if that happens.

25 DYK medal

The 25 DYK Medal
I hereby award the 25 DYK medal to RyRy for his contributions to the Did you know? project. You've fielded enough baseball players for more than two full teams, and even given them uniforms! (Now your challenge is to field an entire league's worth of players ;) Thanks for all that you do and congratulations on the milestone! JayHenry (talk) 02:50, 25 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, JayHenry, and your welcome! :) I'll work on an entire league at some point. ;) – RyRy (talk) 02:56, 25 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You need at least a full batting order for 14 different teams, so that works out to 126 baseball DYKs to achieve the league milestone. Probably better do a stadium or two as well so they have a place to play. --JayHenry (talk) 03:00, 25 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I'll see what I can do. I'll be done in a year. ;) – RyRy (talk) 03:07, 25 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If you have a spare time

Could you look at it[1] and honor the two editors by giving DYK 25 medals? And congratulations for your medal and achievement. Thanks.--Caspian blue (talk) 02:57, 25 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. :) Funny, I was just reading that section on Cirt's talk page. Will do. – RyRy (talk) 03:00, 25 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Really? I just saw your nominating yourself to the list, and you also happen to be admin. :) Thanks.--Caspian blue (talk) 03:02, 25 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I think you have yourself misunderstood. I'm an administrator here and here, but not here. I just read that you wanted an administrator to give them the award? I don't see much reason why, but if you want an administrator to do it, I'll go ahead and leave it up to someone else. – RyRy (talk) 03:14, 25 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, I apologize for my misunderstanding. However, I still think that you're a very qualified person to give the award to the editors because you've received the award already and anyway you're admin to the two Wikiprojects, and native speaker. :) So please do me the favor. By the way, I thought you're already an admin due to your active contributions to main spaces (your screen name is very catchy), arn't you going to do for RFA in future? --Caspian blue (talk) 12:00, 25 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
You mean a second RfA. I already had my first about a month ago (didn't go so well basically because of the problems I had around March–May). In the future (again), but not now. Thank you for your kind words though. :) -- RyRy (talk) 01:03, 26 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Oops, sorry again. I did not know that......--Caspian blue (talk) 03:48, 26 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your user page

Hey RyRy, I just wanted to let you know that under the "Here on the English Wikipedia" section, in the last sentence, your links to your talk page and email point to the wrong person :] « Gonzo fan2007 (talk) @ 03:20, 25 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Heh, thanks for the note. I'm RyanCross on other WikiMedia projects, so I guess I got mixed up on which wiki I was editing at the time. Funny, but we both left a message on eachother's talk pages at the same time! – RyRy (talk) 03:24, 25 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Haha, yeah I saw that. You had "blah blah WP:AIV ." I just removed the space after AIV. And yeah I figured that you had just mixed the links up. « Gonzo fan2007 (talk) @ 03:27, 25 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

inuse

Sorry I didn't see the template - I think we edited almost at the same time. I will leave it to you now. Good work. --BorgQueen (talk) 04:28, 26 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No problem, BorgQueen. I didn't get into an edit conflict, so no harm done. Thank you. -- RyRy (talk) 04:31, 26 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

List of New York Mets Opening Day starting pitchers

Updated DYK query On 26 September, 2008, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article List of New York Mets Opening Day starting pitchers, which you created or substantially expanded. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

Swift crediting

My "special gadget" is Firefox. :-D I open a lot of taps and click each user's talk page and then their "new section", and copy-paste --~~~~ onto all the taps, and click "save page" for all the taps, completing the process in less than a minute, if I am not distracted by something else. --BorgQueen (talk) 06:08, 27 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

By the way, I am glad that you seem to have acquired the skill of making a balanced group of hooks. Please try to have a variety of hooks in terms of nationality and subject; I know it can be difficult sometimes but when there are no available hooks for that purpose it is perfectly justifiable to get one or two hooks slightly ahead of cue. --BorgQueen (talk) 06:29, 27 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

CHU request

Hi Ryan, I've left a note at your CHU request. You should note after two renames, bureaucrats will (by precedent) not usually rename again. Regards, Caulde 17:51, 27 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

My RfA

Thank you for supporting me in my RfA, which passed with a count of (154/3/2). I appreciate the community's trust in me, and I will do my best to be sure it won't regret handing me the mop. I am honored by your trust and your support. Again, thank you. –Juliancolton Tropical Cyclone 19:38, 27 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

DYK credit

Heh, thanks for fixing up my little mis-crediting at T:DYK/N. :-) I guess I was a little busy and forgot to copy/paste the nominator message to the credit section, and then reformat, to include LAAFan. Kind of a little reminder when doing things to maintain a consistent method for accuracy. Thanks, JamieS93 02:03, 28 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. :-) Nice work at DYK also, Jamie. I've seen you around there very actively. -- RyRy (talk) 02:24, 28 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Secret Page

If you deleted your secret page and the secret page barnstar that I created from it, can you at least provide me with a copy of the barnstar? Tezkag72 (talk) 14:18, 28 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Copyedit for "The Other Woman"

Hello, are you interested in copyediting the former/future FAC The Other Woman (Lost)? It has already received a couple copyedits, but DecKiller felt that it could use another one for his support. I started at the bottom of PRV looking through users who like to copyedit "television", "popular culture" or "anything" and found that pretty much all of them are inactive, busy or through past experience, not the best copyeditor. Thanks, –thedemonhog talkedits 03:37, 29 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hey there. Thanks for asking, but I'm not very good at copyediting articles un-related to baseball. I will see what I can do (if any). Don't expect much or any work from me though... -- RyRy (talk) 03:47, 29 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

RE:Review

Yeah sure, here's my review: you should run for adminship!
Hehe, yeah sure I'll give you some good questions, but it will probably be a few days, I have a big test on Tuesday! If I dont remember, just send me a message on Tuesday reminding me! Im off to bed now, have a good night Ry! « Gonzo fan2007 (talk) @ 04:18, 29 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well I read through your RFA (which was depressing for me) and I left you some questions on the review page. I really would like to get some dialogue here, and try and help to explain some of the things you were opposed for. « Gonzo fan2007 (talk) @ 04:51, 1 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Haha, jeez you were faster than me! « Gonzo fan2007 (talk) @ 04:52, 1 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Weeds

Weeds are always a good source of potential DYKs. There are often many government websites (i.e. reliable sources :) ) out there with pretty detailed information and a good detailed profile. The seedlings of Ochna serrulata are damn hard to pull out! A couple of things - the scientific name is always italicized, and one very rarely (I'd say never but I suspect there is some odd exception out there) uses "the" or "a" in front of it. Nice expansion, and feel free to expand any more :) Cheers, Casliber (talk · contribs) 15:10, 29 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I am almost forgot; thanks for expanding the above article. By doing that, you netted me a DYK on an article I gave up on. Cheers.--LAAFansign review 01:56, 30 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No problem! Thanks, RyRy (talk) 01:57, 30 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the notice on the message bar. I was actually going to remove it today anyway, because it was getting on my nerves.--LAAFansign review 13:44, 1 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Userpage design

Hello there RyRy, hope your doing well. I just wanted to drop you a note that I will not be needing my userpage (and/or subpages) redesigned by yourself. Not for prejudical reasons, I've played around with some codes and the current format works perfectly well for me. Hope you don't mind, Blooded Edge Sign/Talk 20:18, 2 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

PS: What happened to your own 'page? It has been stripped down considerably. Blooded Edge Sign/Talk 20:18, 2 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the note. RyRy (talk) 00:45, 3 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thats nice to hear, thanks for replying. Cheers, Blooded Edge Sign/Talk 17:48, 3 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Userpage

I saw you changed your userpage (again). Just to let you know, your article section says your FL is List of Yankees opening day starters, when I think you contributed to the Mets opening day starters. Am I correct?--LAAFansign review 00:19, 3 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yep, you're correct. I just noticed that! Thanks. I guess when I was making that list, I was thinking of the last game at Yankee Stadium, a place with a lot of history in it. So I probably accidentally typed "Yankees" instead of "Mets". Well anyway, thanks for the note. I'll fix it right away. And about the redesign.... I'll probably try to stick with the current one for now. The reason for my redesign can be found in the section above this one. Yours, RyRy (talk) 00:45, 3 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, but no thanks. -- RyRy (talk) 04:38, 3 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

you wanting to nominate it for GA? ==Admrboltz (talk)

I am not sure what WP:BASEBALLs standards are for whats included in an article. Maybe add a statistics box? --Admrboltz (talk) 08:05, 3 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe compare it to Rickey Henderson and see what we may be able to add? --Admrboltz (talk) 08:12, 3 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
