Transmountain Early College High School (TMECHS)is an EPISD specialty school which allows students to take courses at El Paso Community College (EPCC) Transmountain Campus and receive an associates degree by the time they graduate high school.

Facilities

The campus is a collection of portables for classrooms and offices with small buildings for the science lab and cafeteria. The students have access to all the EPCC facilities and services including the library and tutoring.

Admission

To join the school, students must:

  • Pass the 8th grade TAKS
  • Send in an application
  • Pass the 8th grade
  • Have at least a 70% average
  • Pass the Accuplacer [1]

Transportation

The majority of the student body lives over 2 miles away from the school, meaning they have to take buses to get to school and home. There are 3 buses which pick up students from the high schools closest to them.
