Season of the Sun (太陽の季節, Taiyō no Kisetsu) is a Japanese novel written in 1955 by Shintaro Ishihara. It is the source of the name of the rebellious, taiyozoku (太陽族) youth culture which emerged after World War II.[citation needed] The novel won the 1955 Akutagawa Prize.
