Diamond Aircraft Industries is an Austrian based manufacturer of general aviation aircraft, and motor gliders. They are most well known for their fiberglass construction of light aircraft.

History

Founded in 1981 as Hoffmann Flugzeugbau to produce the H36 motor glider. In 1991 it was renamed HOAC AG, after it the Dries Family acquires the entire company. In 1992 with the opening of a Canadian production facility to supply the North American market, the company was also renamed Dimona Aircraft. In 1995 it was renamed Diamond Aircraft Industries, to have better brand recognition.
