Gio Aplon was born Giovandewente Johanskappie Aplon in the Cape Flats to Graeme "Apple" Aplon and Lizette Aplon. He had a hard life playing rugby with his friends on dirt fields in the Cape Flats. He has a big family consisting of 7 brothers and 14 sisters. His family was not well off and he had to use a watermelon to practice his rugby with his father "Apple" Aplon. |
