Genuity is currently an umbrella brand from Monsanto to cover its genetically modified products.[1] Previously, the name was used for a web hosting business owned by Bechtel, which was then sold to the ISP business under GTE in 1997[2] and spun off as an independent company in 2000.[3][4] The assets of the company were acquired by Level 3 Communications in 2002[5] Level 3 exited the hosting business in 2003.[6]
