The band's fan base, known as the Fitters, have been asking for a new album to be released since the release of Steady Damage and this was later confirmed on Twitter by Renee Phoenix. Their second album is said to be released in late 2013 and take influences from a more straightforward rock and roll sound than the more pop-punk inspired sound of their first one.

==Steady Damage==

Steady Damage is the debut album released by the band and was both recorded and released in 2009. It draws heavy influence from bands such as Garbage, whom vocalist Renee Phoenix grew up listening to, and carries a pop-punk sound. The band uses two guitarists on this album and they interchange who plays which section frequently. The drumming uses a lot of fills such as on the song Hallelujah, and the vocals hold a low-end, gruff tone. The vocals were critics main dividing line, with some claiming that Renee Phoenix was a good singer and others saying not.

History

Fit for Rivals are an American pop-punk band formed in Jacksonville, Florida, in 2008. They were formed out of the ashes of vocalist Renee Phoenix's former band The Explicits, a short-lived hardcore punk project that released one album. She met lead guitarist Thomas Amason at a gig and they chose to set up a new band. The band were named Fit For Rivals and they recruited the rest of the band from there. Their debut album, Steady Damage, was released in 2009 to mixed reactions, with critics citing that it was an interesting album with some catchy choruses but suffered from being slightly generic. The band achieved a little success through their lead single from that album, Damage, which has a video on YouTube that has received five million hits. Another one of their songs, Crash, was used on WWE pay-per-view and garnered the band a little fame.
