Kotex is a brand of feminine hygiene products, including maxi pads, pantiliners (named Lightdays), and feminine wipes. In addition to Kotex maxi pads, Kotex makes Security tampons. Kotex is owned and managed by the Kimberly-Clark Corporation.

Kotex gained fame in 1921 by placing some adverts in a magazine called Good Housekeeping. Although some kicked up a fuss the success led to a push for more adverts. Still growing in fame Kotex promoted their product using Mary Pauline Calender who wrote a intimate advice columns. The astonishing success of ads for a Taboo item puts Kotex up with Listerine and Fleishmann who achieved similar feats at similar times.
