Isachne is a genus of grasses. There are about 60 species distributed throughout the tropical and subtropical world.[1] They may be known generally as bloodgrasses.[2]
These are annual and perennial grasses. The stems are hollow, the leaves are often nerved, and the inflorescence may be an open or narrow panicle. The spikelets are rounded to spherical.[1] Many species are aquatic. Isachne globosa is a weed of rice cultivation.[3]
There are about 60[1] to 100 species.[3]
