Papagaio is a small town in Minas Gerais, Brazil. It has approximately 15,000 inhabitants and its economy is based on exports of slate.

Papagaio is 150 kilometers away from the state capital, Belo Horizonte.

There is an argument about whether the correct name of the town is "Papagaio" or "Papagaios", but most people agree that the first one is correct, for historical reasons. Papagaio is Portuguese for parrot.
