A Mobilian is a person moving on his/her own, and only moving himself/herself.

That is, not moving goods, other persons etc, but transporting oneself only. A mobilian can move by foot (pedestrian), by bicycle (bicyclist), skateboard (skater) et. al. - and also by motorized means.

The term 'mobilian' is needed to distinguish between two main categories of road users and users of public spaces: The Mobilian, who strolls, walks and rides to get somewhere on his/her own hand, and - The Transporter, who transports not only himself/herself, but also other persons/goods.

'Mobilian' is thus a general term covering ie. 'pedestrian','passenger','motorcyclist','skater' et al. under ONE term.

This term is suited for adoption into road management, traffic analysis, urban planning etc.
