Daniel Astrain Egozkue (born 29 March 1948) is a Spanish retired footballer who played as a defender.
Club career
Born in Pamplona, Navarre, Astrain was purchased by Athletic Bilbao, starting on the reserve squad in the 1969-1970 season. Two years later he was promoted to the main team, making his debut in Primera División on the 16 January 1972 in the Espanyol-Athletic match which ended 1-2. He was then with the Rojiblancos for eight seasons, competing in 222 games (182 in the league) and winning a Spain Cup. 222 competitive games, four goals.
He made appearances on the Basque Country national football team.
