Alexi Giannoulias is the Democratic candidate for Illinois State Treasurer in the 2006 election. He is the son of Alexis Giannoulias a greek immigrant who founded the well known Broadway Bank in the late 1970's. The bank is under criticism for loans made to reputed mobsters while Giannoulias worked there.
