Fools Dance was a short-lived British rock band founded by Simon Gallup following his departure from The Cure in 1982. This band enjoyed some success - mostly in Holland -during their brief tenure together. However, most critics agreed that they were merely trying to emulate The Cure, albeit not quite as good. The band broke up after Robert Smith asked Gallup to return to The Cure, which he did. While recording the album The Head on the Door, The Cure also tapped another Fools Dance member, Ron Howe, to play the saxophone for the track "A Night Like This". |

The only material they ever released were two EPs; their self-titled EP and They'll Never Know.
The band dissolved shortly after Gallup rejoined The Cure in 1985. However, in 2006, somebody started up a web page for Fools Dance on MySpace[2], featuring some rare live recordings that have never been released to the public.
