Simon Gallup
Simon Gallup (born June 1, 1960 in Duxhurst , Surrey ) has been the bassist in the band The Cure since 1979, with a break from summer 1982 to spring 1985.
He has four older siblings, three brothers, and one sister. In 1961 the family moved to Horley / Surrey, where Simon Gallup attended elementary school from 1965 to 1971 and then comprehensive school until 1976. After school he worked in a plastics factory until 1979.
In addition to The Cure , Simon Gallup played bass with The Magazine Spies and Lockjaw. During his hiatus from The Cure he was a founding member of the group Cry, which later renamed itself Fools Dance and with which he released two EPs and several singles.
