Gō Katō

Gō Katō ( Japanese 加藤 剛 , Katō Gō ; * February 4, 1938 ; † June 18, 2018 ) was a Japanese actor .

He made his film debut in 1964 in a leading role in the film Shitp no densetsu . His breakthrough came in 1965 with the Jurata Yamane in Hideo Gosha's Kedamono no ken . Particularly the collaboration with director Kei Kumai made Gō Katō one of the leading stars of Japanese cinema in the 1970s ( Shinobugawa - The Long Darkness with Komaki Kurihara , The North Cape with Claude Jade , The Death of a Tea Master with Toshirō Mifune ). Other outstanding works are Kono ko wo nokoshite and Yashagaike .
