Artistic Gymnastics competitions at the Beijing 2008 Summer Olympics will be held from August 9 to August 19.

Events

14 sets of medals will be awarded in the following events:

  • Team All-Around Men
  • Individual All-Around Men
  • Floor Men
  • Pommel Horse Men
  • Rings Men
  • Vault Men
  • Parallel Bars Men
  • Horizontal Bar Men
  • Team All-Around Women
  • Individual All-Around Women
  • Vault Women
  • Uneven Bars Women
  • Balance Beam Women
  • Floor Women

Qualification Criteria

An NOC may enter up to 6 men and 6 women athletes. Qualification is based on the results of the 2007 World Championships held in Stuttgart (GER) in September 2007. The places (98 men + 98 women) are awarded as follows:

  • 12 best ranked teams x 6 athletes = 72 (same for men and women)
  • 3 teams ranked 13-15 x 3 athletes = 9 (same for men and women)
  • 3 teams ranked 16-18 x 1 athlete = 3 (same for men and women)
  • 7 men + 9 women athletes from NOCs outside top 18 with the best individual result
  • 6 men + 4 women gold medalists in the individual events if they are not already qualified
  • 3 places granted by FIG Executive Board to ensure participation of the Host Nation and each continent
  • 1 invitational place
