A river in Jinijini way back which almost all the farming population cross by stepping in it on their way to the farm and on their way back home. My grandma said, anytime you step in the river (cross) to make it dirty, you come back to see it clear again as it was before crossing it. This made the people called the river GyeneGyene and named it after the town. Gyene (Twi) = Pure (English). GyeneGyene was later changed by the whites to Jinijini. It's my hometown.).
