Warner Pacific College is an urban residential and commuter Christian liberal arts college located in Southeast Portland, Oregon. Warner Pacific College is dedicated to providing students from diverse backgrounds an education that prepares them for the spiritual, moral, vocational, and technological challenges of the 21st Century. The college is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities.

History

Warner Pacific College was founded in 1937 and is affiliated with the Church of God (Anderson). Its 15-acre (0.06-km²) urban campus is located on the southern slope of Mount Tabor (adjacent to the 195-acre [0.79-km²] Mount Tabor Park.) The college has long sought to expand its campus, most recently (in 2006) pursuing the purchase of a nine acre portion of city property adjoined to the park. In its negotiations, the college has been represented by attorney and former Parks commissioner Jim Francesconi.[1]

Enrollment totals approximately 600 students with a student to faculty ratio of 14:1. The college intends to significantly increase enrollment in coming years.[1] Students come to Warner Pacific from 18 states and 9 countries.

The College is a member of the Cascade Conference and competes in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Division II.

Campus

The urban campus location affords students opportunity for a wide-range of internships to complement every academic major. Additionally, students have ready access to the city's cultural opportunities as well as the recreational resources available on Mount Hood and the Oregon coast.

Academics

Warner Pacific College's traditional undergraduate program offers 18 majors, four areas of pre-professional study, and 21 minors. For working adults, Warner Pacific College offers its Adult Degree Program with an Associate Degree in Organizational Dynamics and Bachelor Degrees in Business Administration and Human Development.
