William Sellers (September 19 1824January 24 1905) was an industrialist and inventor known for proposing the design for the American standard screw thread. Born in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania, Sellers formed a machine company in Philadelphia in 1886, and made improvements in the process for making screw threads and nuts.
