Lies for the Liars is The Used's third studio album. It was released on May 22, 2007. As of mid September 2007, the album has sold over 241,090 copies in the USA. [1]
Information
While only eleven tracks are featured on the standard copy of Lies for the Liars, bonus tracks were released on certain versions. In total, the band have stated that they have recorded 19 songs, from 40 that were written in preparation for the album, however some members have said 20 songs were recorded.[2] Those songs not featured on a version of the album were released as bonus tracks and on CD singles.
Drums
This is the first album without Branden Steineckert as the drummer. He was kicked out of the band in the summer of 2006. Dean Butterworth of Good Charlotte recorded the drums for the album. Dan Whitesides toured with the band and was later announced as the official new drummer.
Special edition
The special edition version includes a bonus DVD, slightly different artwork, special casing, and a 24-page booklet packed with vibrant images of the band and Chadam. The special casing is fashioned to look like a book, with the pages within holding several photographs of the band and different fictional characters as well as the lyrics. The DVD has a 20 minute feature on the making of the album. [3]

Hidden track
"Smother Me' ends at 4:20 but runs to 6:17 due to the addition of a hidden track titled "Queso". "Queso" is a 30 second song that is about a quesadilla. It was first released on The Used myspace in late 2006, most fans talked about it on message boards and said that it was a funny joke. No one ever expected it to actually be on the album.
