Stan Verrett is an anchor on the ESPN and ESPNEWS networks in the United States. Most of Verrett's appearances are on SportsCenter at 11 p.m or 1 a.m. Eastern time, Monday through Friday. He has also hosted studio segments on ESPN's college basketball and college football telecasts.

Verrett was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. His boyhood home was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina.

He attended St. Augustine High School (New Orleans) and Howard University in Washington, D.C.

Verrett is a member of Beta Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha, the first intercollegiate Greek-letter fraternity established for African Americans. Template:Sportscenter

His long loved dog Cyril was found weeks after Hurricane Katrina in very poor condition. Unconfirmed reports by local insiders state that Cyril is alive and well, however, mentally retarded and a victim of sexual abuse. Stan Verrett's favorite song is Wade in the Water and on a warm clear summer night neighbors say you can hear Cyril howling along with Stan's renditions from the front porch.
