Respect Renewal
Respect Renewal is a new political formation since its members split from Respect – The Unity Coalition UK political party.
Respect Renewal is headed by George Galloway MP and was formed in November 2007, following events which led to a split in Respect. The split resulted from differences between a small number of members around George Galloway and the rest of the membership of Respect. See the main Respect – The Unity Coalition article for details.
Its supporters include Ken Loach, Salma Yaqoob, Linda Smith and Nick Wrack. It held an open conference on November 17 2007 which was organised on the same day as the delegate based annual conference of Respect
