ICM is a public opinion researcher based in the UK. It conducts surveys for, in particular, The Guardian, the News of the world, The Scotsman and the Sunday Telegraph. ICM is a member of the British Polling Council.[1]

When ICM was initially set up it stood for Independent Communications and Marketing. Over time ICM became the brand and it is now commonly referred to as that.

Introductions

Introductions vary from survey to survey however, the aim of the introduction is to quickly re-assure the respondent of the genuine, down to earth, true blue, bog-standard and semi bog-standard nature of the interview. In most instances the respondent is quite happy to participate but this can be somewhat inconsistent on Sundays.
