Probably not, but read it anyway.
  • If you leave a message here, I'll reply here. If I've left you a message, you can reply there or here. If you chose to reply here, I will respond here.
  • If there is a conversation taking place somewhere, keep it there. It doesn't need to also take place on my talk page. Such discussions will be removed.
  • If you are pissed off at something I've done, assume good faith. Most likely, whatever I did was with the best of intentions. If you decide to pitch a fit on my talk page anyway, note that I endorse WP:DGAF.

This is me! :)

Redirect

It might not have been your intention, but your recent speedy deletion of the redirect Esp@cenet® under CSD#r3 did not actually satisfy this criterion. CSD#r3 reads "Recently created redirects from implausible typos or misnomers..." The redirect was created on November 30, 2005, i.e. not recently. Could I kindly ask you to restore the redirect? For your information, I have provided a further reason for keeping this redirect on its talk page (which was also recently deleted). Thank you. --Edcolins (talk) 21:19, 20 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Recent or not, no one is going to search for a title with a symbol in it. Regardless of how long it's been overlooked, it doesn't make it necessary. Additionally, if you have further examples of WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS, please list it so we can review the appropriateness of those as well. LaraLove 21:41, 20 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Let me explain:
  • It might seem that "no one is going to search for a title with a symbol in it" (the symbol "®" I mean, esp@cenet with a "@" in it is the official title - I have just moved back the article to the right title, where it was for the last 3 years), but it is just wrong: some users do create articles with a "®" at the end (when the title of the article is a registered trademark), and therefore some users do search for such titles first. Such a redirect is therefore useful in some cases to guide these users to the already existing article. This avoids duplicate articles with different titles (before somebody takes the time to merge them). Redirects are cheap!
  • It is not an implausible typo, see for instance: Virginia A. Baldwin, Patent and Trademark Information: Uses and Perspectives, Haworth Press 2004, page 57 ISBN 0789004402 (google book and amazon will allow you to get the page). And, actually, strictly speaking, it is not a typo.
Cheers. --Edcolins (talk) 23:06, 22 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry. I missed this reply before. I don't see the comparison with the book. That's not an article. And I really don't think people search using symbols... particularly those not easily achieved on the keyboard. LaraLove 04:12, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of Category:Rouge admins

Hi Indubitably,

I noticed that you still use the Category:Rouge admins on your userpage/usertalk page. Please consider removing it, as it has now been deleted as of this discussion. Have a nice day!

lrn2irony. Will (talk) 13:49, 23 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I am aware it has been deleted. And it was removed from my page by someone else. However, as a rogue admin, it seemed appropriate to keep the rouge admin category.... plus, because the reasonirg behind its deletion are so fucktarded, I can't possibly endorse it by removing the category from my page. LaraLove 18:36, 23 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I think it totally rocks now - it's in red and everything! ~ Riana 19:08, 23 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
No doubt, it's even better for the following reasons:
  1. Rouge is a color, more specifically, a shade in the red family.
  2. Because it's red, it stands out; it says "look at me!!"
  3. It makes us even more rogue for being in it, which is uber l33t.
  4. Do we really need another reason?
Ridiculously awesome. LaraLove 19:18, 23 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

User page

I saw your work on CompWhizII's page and was wondering if you wanted to work on mine as well. Thank'ee much, Two One Six Five Five τ ʃ 21:27, 23 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

PS: Remember Two1655 from #wikipedia-en, the one who asked you what it's like to be an admin? Yep.

I don't recall working on his page. Remind me in a few days, I've got college prep going on this week, but next week I should have some extra time. Drop a line letting me know what you want. LaraLove 06:02, 24 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Explanation wrt. Dana & mentoring

Noticed your comment to Dana here and thought I'd explain why you might not have been hearing much. I noticed another editor (can't remember who, I'll see if I can dig it up) a bit ago comment that he was under the impression that you partial wikibreak extended to taking a break from mentorship responsibilities. I was under the same impression, and likely so are others, which would explain the drop in "hate mail." --Infophile (Talk) (Contribs) 01:28, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm. Interesting. I pointed this out somewhere, I thought on his talk page, perhaps some other heated thread, that my semi-wikibreak did not cover my mentorship of him, nor other ongoing responsibilities, rather just any random incoming requests. If there are issues, I want to know about them, otherwise, I would have removed the banner from his talk page. LaraLove 04:05, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Noting a few people who've made this assumption: ScienceApologist, Brunton (even after Dana tried to correct him), and Baegis (who does appear to have had some problems with Dana).
Personally, I also raised an issue about him on that page. I might have raised this issue with you if I'd known you were still active in mentoring him. Now, I haven't been personally involved in this issue, I just noticed that it was happening and it appears that his behavior frustrated another editor to the breaking point when he refused to answer questions about a study he wanted to cite for the article. Whig commented that he made it clear he wasn't going to answer it in Dana's defense, but in my view, that's exactly the problem. --Infophile (Talk) (Contribs) 17:04, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, the wiki son is here to fulfil the prophecy!!

That's right I used 2! count it 2! exclamation marks.. Anyway, i'm Jamo. I was one of the editors who Dfrg.msc got into wiki when he started. I only really edit when I get the spare time at school, cause I got too many other things to do around the place. But yeah, I had heard a lot about you from Nick-o and he has been showing me the bathrobe cabal progression, into some sort of a cult state :P I have to say, you, nick and the undertow have made something truly friggin great and I intend to enter your realm soon enough, when I get the time to get in my bathrobe and get a picture :P haha Cheers! Haha, good times. Look forward to your submission. XD LaraLove 04:08, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Ms Love

Apologies if this is not the correct procedure for querying deletions, but as the convener of the Westminster Committee on Iran, I would ask that you replace the page that was deleted on this important international organisation. We at the committee cannot agree that the page was “blatant advertising”. Whilst it clearly gave information on the group (including guiding principles, links to references in national and international media, and quotes about the organisation from the director of the IPU (a UN subsidiary) it was not a advertisement for the group. As I am no longer able to sign in having had the details deleted, I assume that this is the way I challenge a deletion. I will give it a little while before contacting the adjudicators.

Kind regards —Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.171.163.194 (talk) 15:35, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'll look back through my deletions to see what it is specifically that you're speak of. I've not done article deletions lately, so I'm assuming this was a userpage I deleted and subsequently blocked the name. If this is the case, it will not be undone. Userpages are to detail user's information and their contributions to the encyclopedia, not advertise their company or organization. Also, names of companies and organizations are considered promotional when used in such a manner.
I'll look into this now, just in case I'm incorrectly recalling my recent edits. If the above doesn't apply, just give me a few minutes and I'll correct or clarify. LaraLove 17:53, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yes. User:The Westminster Committee on Iran. Please note that Wikipedia does not allow "Advertising or promotion of a business or non-Wikipedia-related organization (such as purely commercial sites or referral links)" on user pages, per WP:UP#NOT. We're here to build an encyclopedia, not advertise our organizations. See also Wikipedia:USERNAME#Company.2Fgroup names. I'm sorry for the inconvenience. The JzG Brick of Common Sense Award
Named after JzG, this award is for anyone who shows an air of common sense in an environment or discussion where such has left the building.

You're one of the only 'pedians I know who actually knows what deleting is in Wikipedia terms (BCB DRV). For that, I salute you. Will (talk) 16:03, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hahaha. Thanks. :) LaraLove 16:21, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It inspired me to write this! What do you think? Didn't you (LaraLove) write that guide to deletion for the Transhumanist classroom? Carcharoth (talk) 16:32, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, no. But good game doing your research first, as per usual. I wrote the guide to taking an article through Good Articles. Totally different from deletion. You're thinking of Elaragirl. We're not the same person. LaraLove 17:25, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

WP:ADCO

Hello. My username is Arichnad. On my talk page I was asked to introduce myself to you: I'm interested in being coached in accordance with the admin coaching program. My reasons for coming to the program was that I was recently asked if I would accept an admin nomination. Because I didn't know anything about what it takes to become an admin, I decided that I'd put off the RFA and start at the beginning with admin coaching. A bit of personal trivia, my only sibling, Larissa, was named after Lara from Dr. Zhivago. Interesting coincidence. Anyways, I await your reply. ~a (usertalkcontribs) 17:28, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Wonderful. I've got an adoptee classroom, but you're my first admin coachee, so let's start with what you are most interested in and work from there. From looking over your edit count with WBK, it appears our interests are in totally different areas... but that could be a good thing. LaraLove 17:39, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
In the past few months most of my time has been spent thoughtfully replying to editor assistance requests (WP:EAR). Other time has been spent analyzing changes made to my watchlist or recent changes (the latter of which inevitably directs me to vandalism intervention). Every once and a while, I go on a search for citations or stumble upon an article in need of deletion (or needs saving from deletion). In other words, my interests are pretty disjointed and disorganized. Do you have any suggestions? ~a (usertalkcontribs) 18:21, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'm a wanderer. I float from one place to another depending on my mood. Avoiding certain areas, like XfD pretty successfully. As of late, article writing has been a big deal in RFA. Do you contribute to the improvement of articles? LaraLove 18:30, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I have noticed that too. Most of my article improvement has been in small chunks. A citation here, copyediting there, minor rewording of sentences. However, one of my weaknesses is creating and sourcing large amounts of content from scratch. I'm interested in getting into featured articles or requested articles but I'm not sure where to start. ~a (usertalkcontribs) 18:37, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
What topics are you interested in? And do you have IRC? LaraLove 19:36, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
