PAGASA did not officially named a storm "Nonoy"
Although PAGASA declared that there would be a possiblity of a storm entering the PAR and that they would name it "Nonoy" while the storms "Lando and "Mina" were devastating the country, it never happened. I could not see any tropical storm advisory from the PAGASA website since morning of November 29, 2007. -Pika ten10 (talk) 04:08, 22 December 2007 (UTC)
- You sure? There are several news bulletins for a storm called Nonoy, while Lando and Mina were active. --Hurricanehink (talk) 04:17, 22 December 2007 (UTC)
- Where did you see those news bulletins??? Take note that what the PAGASA website declares is official in the Philippine weather (it's their official website), while what the news declares on weather is not necessarily official. -Pika ten10 (talk) 10:30, 23 December 2007 (UTC)
- I understand that, but the news bulletins listed below call the depression Nonoy (several say clearly that PAGASA classified it as Nonoy). I think it would be odd for the news sites to call it Nonoy when PAGASA never named it. --Hurricanehink (talk) 16:02, 23 December 2007 (UTC)
- PAGASA said that they only classified it as, in my own words, as a potential tropical depression. However, I reiterate I haven't noticed a storm named like "Nonoy". -Pika ten10 (talk) 03:11, 24 December 2007 (UTC)
- I didn't see it on the PAGASA website - but I wasn't really checking it very often. - SpLoT // 14:28, 22 December 2007 (UTC)
- One of your references say that depression, to be named "Nonoy", is only brewing. It means it has never formed. Note: A brewing beer is not totally a beer, but a 'potential beer'. -Pika ten10 (talk) 03:16, 24 December 2007 (UTC)
- Actually, I'm leaning toward Nonoy not being used, given these edits - [7] and [8]. If anyone wants to remove the reference to Nonoy, feel free to. Sorry I was being so difficult everyone! --♬♩ Hurricanehink (talk) 03:49, 24 December 2007 (UTC)
- According to Typhoon 2000 Pagasa did not name 25W Nor 26W Nando but they have not added all of the PAGASA Storms yet.Jason Rees (talk) 21:27, 22 December 2007 (UTC)
- I did not see any bulletins for Nonoy which is why I took it off when Mina and Lando were active. TY2000 stormlog only shows 13 named storms of 2007 right nowStormLog 2007. - グリフオーザー (talk) 01:55, 23 December 2007 (UTC)
Concerning Hagibis und Mitag
Great Coastal Gale of 2007 states that the remnants of Hagibis and Mitag enhanced the effects of the storm that bashed Oregon, Washington and BC.
- Could this be verified?
- If affirmative, probably should the fact included into this article?
The claim obviously origins in this newspaper artcile. However a more "official" source should be found. --Matthiasb-DE (talk) 16:03, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
- There's some info on the storms here, from the NWS, but none of the links mention any relation to Hagibis or Mitag. ♬♩ Hurricanehink (talk) 16:27, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
- Meanwhile I found this and I guess it's a reliable source. --Matthiasb-DE (talk) 20:50, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
