John Rood
John C. Rood was confirmed by the Senate on September 13, 2006 as Assistant Secretary of State for International Security and Nonproliferation.[1]
From February 2005 to October 2006 he served as Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for Counterproliferation Strategy at the National Security Council. From September 2003 to February 2005, he was Deputy Assistant Secretary for Forces Policy at the Department of Defense. Earlier in his career, he served as Director of Proliferation Strategy, Counterproliferation and Homeland Defense at the National Security Council. Mr. Rood received his bachelor's degree from Arizona State University.
