Template:Zeldaproj

Villains

I removed the villain characters in the template, since they are already covered by Template:Legend of Zelda villains--TBC (aka Tree Biting Conspiracy) 20:27, 18 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Merge

I think that we should merge the two templates Zelda Characters and Zelda Villains. There really is no reason for them to be seperate, and seperated, they are both very empty. Rather than having to small related templates, I think we should have one good sized template. This is why I previously edited this template. --Superneoking 21:59, 18 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. When I first saw it, I couldn't figure out why Ganon wasn't listed as a main character, which is why I came to this page. Besides, the villains template doesn't have anything on races, and I don't think that has it's own template, so it makes sense to have it in with characters. Corbo 10:22, 10 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
He was, someone decided to seperate it. Highway Batman! 10:42, 10 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Impa?

Impa isn't really a MAIN character, not is Tingle

--Zeldamaster3 15:14, 27 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Impa hasn't appeared in a lot of the games but she's often integral to the plot, sending Link off on his quest or whatever. She was certainly a main character in Ocarina. Tingle has actually appeared in quite a few games, often in an important (if annoying) role. It really depends on how you define main. If you argue it's based on number of appearances then all you're really left with is Link, Zelda and Ganon(who hasn't been in all the games) since Agahnim and Vaati have had less appearances than Tingle and Impa. If you talk about plot importance, then they all have some claim to justify being there. Corbo 18:55, 27 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Cleanup

This template is in need of cleanup, as its function, scope, uses, content, etc. all are not defined solidly at all. The Wikiproject community should get together on this issue and decide what this template should contain, if it should be merged or the object of a merge, where it should appear... Etc. --Tryforceful 05:02, 28 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Things that should be done with this... It's obvious that the objective of this template has to be "all or nothing."
  • The template {{Legend of Zelda villains}} should be merged with this one.
  • A general villains page should be made, Villains in The Legend of Zelda series, perhaps, to handle all the stray villain pages in the previous template's stead, (if needed.)
  • Enemies that currently appear on the Villians template need to be referenced by a main page, or merged, or something. Having seventy-some enemies on The Legend of Zelda series enemies page, but a few elsewhere, is haphazard. All or nothing...
  • etc.

Keaton

Why is keaton in here? It's a minor character in one game, and only appears as a mask in the other. It is not integral to any game's plot, and the article is very short and does not contain as much information compared to the others in the template.

The only reason I know of concerning why it's here is that it's a distinct, lengthy article on the character which seems rather complete. It's true that the character doesn't hold the greatest importance and its info could be merged somewhere else, but until that's done it still is a character and thus belongs in the template. So your issue might more importantly be "why does Keaton have its own article?" --Tryforceful 06:37, 15 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Zythe, I've reverted your last edit on the following grounds. In an effort to unite every page of The Legend of Zelda WikiProject together with wikilinks, I (at least) consider this template's purpose to be to direct a user to every possible page on characters in the Zelda series that exists on Wikipedia. While most times (and rightly so) any unique pages on characters exist because they are main characters, it may not always be that simple; in this case, I am not sure why Keaton has received such a large backing on Wikipedia given its small presence in the game, but any discussion on why that is so belongs on Talk:Keaton. Nevertheless, the page is there, and should be mentioned. Since Keaton(s) don't attack Link, are intelligent and have only been a positive influence on his quest, the article most easily fits into this template, and thus doesn't belong in the enemies template (where Octorok is listed, by the way). --Tryforceful 06:14, 24 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

What in the World is Spongebob doing in the Template?

I've looked in the template to see how to remove that piece of spam, but when I look in the various names listed, his doesn't come up. However... it DOES come up within actually looking at a Zelda character's page (I was on Midna's when I noticed this). I would like to see if someone could remove that and at least... temporarily ban the ip that did it. Putting a cartoon character from Nickelodeon into the Zelda character template is ridiculous.

Reverted?

Why exactly can't Agahnim and Zant be in the template? If Ganon is, then why not these two major villains? --65.11.129.176 23:37, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Because they only appear in one game. - A Man In Bl♟ck (conspire | past ops) 04:20, 13 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well, shouldn't all characters that have articles be on the list. I've edited it so Agahnim is there. Agahnim appears in two other games, although the second is debatable. And he's one of the only characters with an article anymore.

Malon...

Since when is Malon such an important character to be in the template? To me she seems nothing but a supporting character.Yes, she appears in more than one game, but she isn't very important in any of them. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Qwertumz (talkcontribs) 01:18, 29 April 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Template Changes

Perhaps we can add characters like Agahnim and Midna into the template, but in addition, change how characters are listed. They can be sorted into Minor or Major roles? I am sure something better could be thought up, but I just don't think characters should be removed simply because of their game appearances. For example, Impa might be in multiple games, but a newcomer in the series would probably be doubtful when comparing her article to the article for Midna. --Superneoking 18:19, 20 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Tingle!?

How on earth does Tingle get referenced in the main character box. Impa, Ganon, maybe Vaati, they all deserve consideration before Tingle. Furthermore, Tingle acts as nothing more than a minor supporting character in the main series games.

The template should be changed!

Krenzer (talk) 04:12, 18 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well, Ganon is in the template, so he did get considered before Tingle. I don't believe you'll find enough third-party sources for Impa or Vaati to establish notability. Tingle has at least one third-party reference in the article, although the notability claim is weak at this point. There were talks of merging Tingle into the list of characters, but it seems to have died out. Pagrashtak 05:12, 18 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Tingle is a supporting character at best. There is no point where he becomes either a protagonist or antagonist. I'm brand new at this, but I am removing his name from the main characters part of this template. Snowlock (talk) 12:05, 10 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
