Mostasteless is the first album recorded by Jamie Madrox and The Monoxide Child as Twiztid. Prior to this album's release, both members were part of the Detroit local rap group The House of Krazees. The album was printed with three different covers and in two different versions. The first version was released on August 4, 1998. Due to sample clearance problems production was cancelled. This version's cover has both members in black hooded sweaters with a blue background. Twiztid then signed with Island Records and was forced to remove some tracks, but recorded some new ones and re-released Mostasteless on June 22, 1999. This version has comic book type artwork on the cover. The third printing of the album was released at the 2002 Gathering of the Juggalos. Madrox said that this version, which has the same tracks as the 1998 version, was originally going to be released as the first printing, but the cover, which features two conjoined fetuses with wings, was too edgy for record stores to carry. As a result, the "black hoods" cover became the first printing. When the existence of the original unreleased "fetus" artwork became widely known to fans, a limited run of albums bearing this cover was printed, limited to 2000 copies.

Original Mostasteless Trivia
- The Fetus cover of "Mostasteless" was released at the 2002 Gathering of the Juggalos.
- There's an alternate version of the intro on "Cryptic Collection".
- On "2nd Hand Smoke", En Vogue’s song "Free Your Mind" is sampled.
- "Diemuthafuckadie" contains a sample of a song called "Spooky Boogie" by Gentle Giant. Also, this song is edited in the national version.
- The filler tracks, "Smoke Break" and "Anotha Smoke Break" were removed for the national version. They were later featured on "Cryptic Collection 2".
- "Murder, Murder, Murder" was one of the final tracks made by the House of Krazees before they broke up. This version excludes R.O.C.'s verse. This track was removed in the final version but was featured on "Psychopathics From Outer Space" and "Cryptic Collection 2"
- "First Day Out" is a remake of Insane Clown Posse’s classic from Carnival of Carnage album.
- "Somebody’s Dissin’ U" was also released on "Psychopathics From Outer Space" and "Cryptic Collection" (The song was remixed and featured Blaze Ya Dead Homie). This track was dropped from the re-issue.
- "Meat Cleaver" and "She Ain’t Afraid" were also re-released on both the mentioned albums and it was also dropped from the re-issue.
- "85 Bucks an Hour" was also released on Insane Clown Posse's Forgotten Freshness Volumes 1 & 2.
- The second verse in "Renditions of Reality" can also be found on the song "Slip Into Reality" from "Head Trauma" (by House of Krazees).
- There's a story at the end of "Renditions of Reality" which reveals the Twiztid hotline if followed right.

National Release Trivia
- In "Diemuthafuckadie" There are three reversed words in it:
"We Need To (Burn) The White House and Piss in his face"
"And every cop should (Be Beat) like Rodney King"
"Shove a donut in their mouth and a badge in their ass because the (pigs) get no class"
- "Whatthefuck!?!?" also has a reversed word for cencorship reasons. Also, this track doesn't have the intro that was in the OG version.
In "Spin the Bottle" they used a up to date version of the beat to "BBQ on Boulevard" by the Golden Goldies.
