- The article did not contain any assertion of notability and met criteria for deletion. Hello yet again. I regretfully inform you that the bot we were using to update the user status at Wikipedia:Highly Active Users, SoxBot V, was blocked for its constant updating. With this bot out of operation, a patch is in the works. Until that patch is reviewed and accepted by the developers, some options have been presented to use as workarounds: 1) Qui monobook (not available in Internet Explorer); 2) User:Hersfold/StatusTemplate; 3) Manually updating User:StatusBot/Status/USERNAME; or 4) Not worry about it and wait for the patch to go through, which hopefully won't take long. Hi. :) I happened to notice that when you restored this article, you didn't restore the talk page. (The restoration was fresh up on the deletion log when I checked it today; I noticed then, but kept the article open while doing other things so as not to anticipate you.) I'm pretty sure that it's restoration is uncontroversial, so I've taken the liberty of bringing it back. Not much on it but a project tag, but it has been assessed so it might save some duplicate effort. Wallaceij - deleted page
Hello, I tried to start the page, Applying to Graduate School in Psychology: Advice From Successful Students and Prominent Psychologists. I understand that parts of the original page appeared to be blatent advertising. I revised the page to remove blatent advertising and increased a focus on the book as a first of its kind. I also placed an entry on the talk page defending place as a legitimate entry, which I've reproduced here:
This page represents a legitimate encyclopedia entry because it is the first book published by the American Psychological Association - the largest and most popular publisher of psychological resources - to be edited by current graduate students in psychology. This is a significant accomplishment in view of the 100's if not 1000's of books on pursuing higher education that are exclusively published by professionals. Furthermore, it is also unique to other such resources because it is predominantly authored by graduate students.
To reduce the impression that this page is an advertisement, I have removed the long block quote describing the marketable qualities of the book.

- Based on the content of the article, I don't think the book meets Wikipedia's standards for inclusion as outlined at Wikipedia:Notability (books). OK, the Hub Bike Coop article has now been deleted TWICE. I added a talk page to start a discussion regarding the article's problems, a discussion which you swiftly DELETED. So what is wrong with you??? Are you against healthy debate??? Do you oppose constructive negotiation??? Are you seemingly hell-bent on destroying the American ideals of the right to free speach and opinion??? Well if you are, I highly reccommend that you leave Wikipedia IMMEDIATELY, because it is people like YOU who create these one-sided non peer-reviewed articles. Frankly, that is quite the opposite of Wikipedia's goal. Next time you want to raise hell with my efforts, tell me. Let's not resort to guerilla war-tactics here, Edgar. - Ldud, Hub Bicycle Co-op was deleted May 24th by Orangemike (talk · contribs). A couple of weeks later, you created the talk page for the article. It's unlikely that anyone would come across "orphaned" talk pages to discuss the deletion, so these kinds of pages are routinely deleted (this is a criteria for speedy deletion, and the reason I deleted the talk page). If you want to discuss the deletion of the article, it would be best contact Orangemike and talk to him, and if that doesn't work out you can look into Wikipedia:Deletion review. I was looking into this (I removed the message from AIV) and just saw you blocked this IP - I have a feeling the block is actually the fault of CanadianLinuxUser (talk · contribs) who upset an anon user by reverting their good faith edit, which was actually a correct edit, and then slapped a warning template on the anon user. - Yes, looking closer, it does appear that CanadianLinuxUser erred, but I wouldn't say that the block is his fault. I would say that the anon user who made the personal attacks is responsible for his own actions. I normally block for that kind of thing, but since it's not as clear-cut as it originally appeared to me, I'll unblock and warn instead. The Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders of Canada Wikipedia page
I am the DCO (second-in-command)of the Camerons of Canada and have tried to edit the Wikipedia page on my Regiment to include better links (one of which is to the Regiment's own website). After editing the page I received a message that Wikipedia had reverted the page to how it was prior to my additions. If there is anyone who is more of a subject matter expert on the Regiment than I am, I already know them personally or would be very interested in corresponding with them. I want to make the article on the Camerons as complete and accurate as it can be. To do so I need to be able to edit it.

- Confusingly, "benzenehexachloride" is used as a common name for the isomers of hexachlorocyclohexane (as can be seen at PubChem or AlanWood.net), but now that you mention it, I think it would be a good idea to move that article to a title with a systematic name or a less confusing common name. WP:HAU, Status, and you!
As you may know, the StatusBot responsible for maintaining the status of the Highly Active Users was taken offline. We now have a replacement in the Qui status system. This semi-automatic system will allow you to easily update your status page found at Special:Mypage/Status which the HAU page code is now designed to read from. If you are already using Qui (or a compatible system) - great! - no action is needed (other than remembering to update your status as necessary). If not, consider installing Qui. You can also manually update this status by changing the page text to online, offline, or busy. While it is not mandatory, the nature of HAU is that people are often seeking a quick answer from someone who is online and keeping our statuses up-to-date will assist with this. Note if you were previously using your /Status page as something other than a one-word status indicator, your HAU entry may have been set to "status=n" to correct display issues. - Someone else marked Code available here as a copyright violation, which may or may not be true, but that's not the reason I deleted it. It seemed to me that you were just testing something because it only contained some source code, and therefore had no meaningful content as an encyclopedia article. Idea
I have an idea: for compounds for which structures can't be created, could we have a field that says "Molecular diagram: none" or something similar, so people like me don't bother people like you when we find that there's no diagram at a particular article? Badagnani (talk) 20:37, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
- Perhaps it's something you can suggest at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Chemicals or Wikipedia talk:Chemical infobox, though I suspect it would be difficult to draw a line between those for which structure diagrams can't be created from those that are very difficult to create. But in any case, I'm not bothered at all by the requests. Also, are you aware of Wikipedia:WikiProject Chemistry/Image Request? - Yes, I did notice. But in my mind when one IP has made essentially the same vandalous edit six times over the course of a week and been warned multiple times about it, it is clear they are ignoring warnings and are likely to persist. - I understand your point. But I generally would block at the same point even if all the edits were made more rapidly, too. Admins have a range of attitudes about blocking IPs, and I'm sure I fall slightly towards the less tolerant end. For obvious persistent vandals such as this one and with a relatively short block, it probably doesn't make that much difference one way or another, though. -- Ed (Edgar181) 23:44, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
