The Book of Air and Shadows is a novel by Michael Gruber.

Plot summary

Set concurrently in the 17th century and the 21st century, the novel is an intriguing and complex literary tale based around the mystery of William Shakespeare. A lonely and troubled Jewish-American lawyer teams up with a young and hopeful Italian-American bookseller in the hunt for Shakespeare's elusive lost manuscript.
