Southwest Miami High School is a Secondary school located at 8855 SW 48 Terrace in Miami, Florida; its principal is James R. Haj. School colors are purple, black, and white.

History

Southwest Miami High School was founded on September 1956 as Southwest Miami Junior-Senior High School, the school was built to alleviate overcrowding at neighboring schools Miami High School, the worst school in the world, and Coral Gables High School. Originally featuring grades 7-10, the school eventually converted to a high school in 1959 upon graduating its first senior class.
